Refusal
To Be The Big Sister
After
losing her voice during the promotion of her Mandarin album in
Taiwan, Kelly did not sing on Friday night's Commercial Radio live
show as well as attend the radio interview. Yesterday, Kelly finally
appeared for both the RTHK event and the station's live interview.
Although Kelly has not fully recovered from her illness, her voice
was getting much better. Despite getting sick, Kelly received the
good news that she is nominated for the Most Popular Female Singer
award for the World Mandarin Music Awards to be scheduled on 19
September in Shanghai.
Kelly
had expressed that she is currently taking Chinese medication and is
on the road to recovery. Was her boyfriend Has Kelly made plans for
her future if she is to lose her voice permanently? Kelly
immediately replied that she would dance instead. The Chinese
physician had mentioned that she has phlegm in her throat and her
lungs are weak. She was given treatment for lung infection.
During
these few days staying at home, Kelly managed to catch the Miss HK
Finals. She commented that the finalists are good except that the
question and answer section looks unnatural like if they were
dictating. She also felt that the questions were not too
difficult and the finalists should be able to handle them
well. In her earlier promotion in Taiwan, the local boy group Energy
had called her "Sister Kelly". Kelly did not like that as
she felt that it sounded outdated. She made a plea to everyone that
those above the age of 16 are not to call her big sister. Her
selection of Big Sister status are Rosamund Kwan, Michelle Reis,
Cherie Chung and Brigitte Lin as they are all big stars. She has yet
to reach that status and she fears to hear people calling her so.

可 以 開 聲 做 直 播

正 在 吃 中 藥 治 療 ， 漸 在 康 復 當 中 。 她 險
些 失 聲 ， 男 友 可 心 痛 ﹖ 她 稱 男 友 不 在 香
港 ， 但 有 班 好 友 及 歌 迷 支 持 已 足 夠 。 她
可 想 過 若 失 聲 不 可 以 再 唱 歌 ﹖ Kelly 很 快
說 ﹕ 「 跳 舞 囉 ﹗ 死 跳 爛 跳 囉 ﹗ 」 中 醫 指
她 喉 嚨 的 痰 多 、 肺 弱 ， 是 用 醫 肺 炎 的 方
法 治 理 ， 主 要 都 是 叫 她 多 些 休 息 。
她 說 日 前 在 家 看 《
港 姐 決 賽 》 ， 她 指 今 年 的 港 姐 幾 好 ， 只
是 在 答 問 題 時 似 讀 稿 。 她 認 為 問 題 不 算
太 難 ， 港 姐 應 該 應 付 得 來 。 另 外 ， 早 前
台 灣 組 合 Energy 稱 她 為 「 Kelly 姐 」 ， 她 指 很
老 套 ， 以 後 凡 16 歲 以 上 的 人 不 准 叫 她 「
阿 姐 」 。 她 認 為 關 之 琳 、 李 嘉 欣 、 鍾 楚
紅 和 林 青 霞 都 是 大 明 星 ， 就 稱 得 上 阿 姐
， 自 己 未 夠 班 ， 最 怕 人 家 叫 她 阿 姐 。

Denial
On Being Bedridden
As
Kelly had overworked herself recently and resulted in losing her
voice, most of her work in this period was affected. Many of them
were canceled except yesterday night's CR903 Vani's live show.
Yesterday,
Infernal Affairs movie director, Andrew Lau, explained that Kelly
was absent because she was very sick and therefore bedridden. The
reporters immediately called Kelly's manager to verify the news.
Kelly's manager denied and said that Kelly's case was not so serious
and she did not need to be hospitalised. Kelly has seen a Chinese
physician and is taking medication. She only has a viral infection
due to her influenza. Kelly has attended the live show because the
tickets for the show are snapped up and must definitely be
present.
During
the live show, Kelly still could not resist to sing a little but she
only did it softly. She had also pointed to her throat that she is
still unable to speak. However, due to the good response from the
audience, she managed to talk in her hoarse voice.

昨 日 向 記 者 解 釋 Kelly 缺 席 祈 福 典 禮 ，是 因
病 重 連 床 都 落 唔 到 。 不 過 Kelly 經 理 人 鍾
珍 事 後 透 過 電 話 報 告 她 的 病 況 時 說 ： 「
啋 啋 啋 ， 邊 有 咁 誇 張 ， 無 咁 嚴 重 亦 唔 使
入 院 。 佢 睇 中 醫 轉 藥 方 ， 醫 生 話
佢 感 冒 菌 入 聲 帶 引 起 發 炎 ， 所 以 出 唔 到
聲 ， 依 家 食 中 藥 加 針 灸 。 （ 點 解 失 聲 都
可 以 出 席 音 樂 會 ？ ） 因 為 有 現 場 觀 眾 ，
唔 可 以 唔 去 。 記 者 會 少 一 兩 個 人 無 所 謂
， 但 觀 眾 晒 飛 睇 音 樂 會 就 唔 可 以 缺
席 。 今 （ 昨 ） 晚 Kelly 會 參 與 遊 戲 環 節 扮

忍 唔 住 唱 幾 句
但 昨 晚 抱 恙 失 聲 的
Kelly 出 席 「 雲 妮 夜 總 會 」 ， 忍 唔 住 在 台
上 細 細 聲 與 陳 小 春 、 鄭 中 基 合 唱 《 萬 水
千 山 總 是 情 》 ， 然 後 她 用 手 指 住 喉 嚨 示
意 不 能 出 聲 ， 後 來 因 為 觀 眾 的 熱 情 令 她
破 戒 以 沙 啞 的 聲 線 說 ： 「 唔 使 講 ， 聽 把
聲 都 知 冇 晒 聲 啦！ 」
此 外 ， 昨 日 「 聯 合
國 兒 童 基 金 會 」 籌 募 部 陳 先 生 表 示 ， 雖
然 Kelly 昨 日 缺 席 記 者 會 ， 但 她 會 與 另 一
位 大 使 陳 曉 東 參 與 九 月 廿 八 日 慈 善 步 行
活 動 。 昨 日 記 者 會 上 東 東 初 會 鄭 裕 彤 即
拱 手 行 禮 ， 兩 人 還 手 拖 手 十 分 有 趣 ， 事
後 他 稱 每 見 到 前 輩 就 自 動 拱 手 行 禮 以 示
尊 敬 。

Sick
Depression
Kelly
had recently lost her voice after overworking herself in the
promotion in Taiwan. During yesterday's phone interview, her voice
was still hoarse. Kelly's main fear was that she was unable to speak
for several days and made her feel very depressed.
The
main cause of her illness was that she did not have proper rest
after she fell sick. During that time, she had flown to and fro
Taiwan and Japan and her promotion work was packed with interviews
from morning till midnight. She had to speak for at least 10 hours
daily and had stressed her vocal cords. On the third day of
promotion in Taiwan, she finally lost her voice. During the
autograph session, she again exerted force on her voice causing
further damage to her vocal cords.
The
Chinese physician diagnosed that her lungs were weak and had to give
her medication that is used to treat lung infection. Kelly was
further advised not to talk during these few days so that her vocals
would not be permanently damaged.
Now
that she is sick, has she made a request to her record company to
lessen the work load? Kelly said that everyone knew she need a
time-out but many things cannot be controlled. Her new album is
released today and she still has many tasks to be completed.
However, she is not worried that the sales of her album will be
affected as she has confidence in the quality of the songs.

肺 部 極 虛 ， 要 幫 她 似 肺 炎 般 治 理 。 現 在
Kelly 除 食 藥 外 ， 又 試 了 針 灸 、 刮 沙 與 放
血 ， 醫 生 嚴 禁 她 不 要 說 話 。 她 稱 若 再 不
好 好 養 聲 ， 怕 以 後 不 用 工 作 了 。
問 她 有 否 要 求 唱 片
公 司 減 少 安 排 工 作 ， 讓 她 休 息 ﹖ Kelly 稱
大 家 也 知 道 她 要 休 息 ， 但 很 多 事 情 也 控

The Spanish Dance
Kelly's
new Cantonese album will be released tomorrow. She had selected this
special lucky date so as to hope that the album will be a hit. For
the album picture taking in Spain, Kelly had changed into 22 sets of
clothes. Accompanied with the album will also be a 48 paged photo
book and music videos.
According
to a spokesperson from Go East, as Kelly has not had any major
promotion event in HK for a long time, they had arranged an
autograph session to be held in the bustling streets of Causeway
Bay. Fans will then have a chance to be close to Kelly. Meanwhile,
the authorities are worried that the event might caused a commotion
and has hence requested the record company to specify a time and to
limit the number of people attending the event. However, Go East
will want as many people to attend the event as possible and they
are still currently negotiating with the authorities.
During
her stay in Spain, Kelly has learnt the local Spanish dance. She had
a hard time remembering the dance steps on the first day as it was
very complex. Kelly had wished that she would be able to have the
chance to perform the dance to people but hoped that people would
not laugh at her if her actions look hilarious.
As
to why the new album is called "Love", she explained that
there were many unpleasant happenings in this year. People should
learn to treasure those around them and maintain friendship and
kinship with love.

字 為 《 愛 》 ， 是 因 為 今 年 有 很 多 不 愉 快

Sexiness
Kelly,
who had earlier went to Spain to take pictures for her new album,
had said that the new image is the sexiest she has done so far.
During the shooting, Kelly had donned a $150 000 semi-translucent
dress. Kelly laughed that this was the extreme to which she is able
to show her sexiness. She had worn a swimming suit as a backing for
the dress.
As
to why Kelly has decided to go sexy this time, she expressed that it
was difficult to get a permit to film in the art centre. Initially
the photographer had failed to apply for one but during the second
attempt, the photographer submitted the application again with
Kelly's background info attached, the authorities immediately
agreed. The photographer had also made a request to her to try out
something more sexy as this was a rare opportunity. Kelly's initial
worry was gone after seeing the beautiful decor in the art centre
and she could not resist to decline.

Working
While Sick
Kelly
had recently filmed the music video for her new song "She Is
Uglier Than Me" despite being sick. Due to the side effects of
the medication that she took, her reaction on that day was rather
slow. Fortunately, the video was for a slow song and the director
felt that it was acceptable. During the filming, Kelly started to
shiver and her face turned pale. The director immediately stopped
the filming and switched off the air-conditioning. Kelly was also
given a time-out for resting before continuing.
Besides
suffering from flu, Kelly also had a bad sore throat. She hoped that
she would be able to get well soon so that there would be no
hindrance to her schedule.

Unable
To Sing To Her Fans
Kelly's
autograph session was held yesterday afternoon in Taipei.
Unexpectedly, Kelly was struck with heat stroke and flu, and had
even lost her voice. As a result, the singing segment had to be
aborted. Kelly felt apologetic for being unable to sing to her fans
and had later burst into tears.
To
make up to the fans coming from various parts of the world, Kelly
did a dance segment and played games with them. Kellyland towels
were also given away as gifts. Many of the fans had given to her
lozenges and medication to cure flu which made Kelly felt touched.
The
reporters made a call to Kelly's manager, who did not accompany her
for the Taiwan trip, understand the situation. Miss Chung replied
that she had given Kelly a call but she was unable to talk. From
word of Kelly's assistant, she had already seen a Chinese physician.
She was diagnosed to be suffering from heat stroke and flu. Miss
Chung added that Kelly was actually not feeling well after her
earlier trip to Taiwan and had taken both Western and Chinese
medication. Even though she had a 3 day rest, she had still not
recovered. Furthermore, the current weather in Taiwan is very hot
and as her flu condition is rather serious, she had also lost her
voice.
Kelly
has another autograph session today which is unable to be cancelled.
The initial plan was for Kelly to stay till 20th for a TV programme
recording but then it would most likely be cancelled to allow her to
return early to HK to rest.

Undergarments
For Auction
Yesterday
afternoon, Kelly was in Taipei to attend a second hand item charity
auction. After the items assigned to her were auctioned, Kelly had
thought that she had finished her task. The host suddenly came up
with the idea to get Kelly to put up something she is wearing for
auction. Kelly felt shy and backed away but luckily the host had
only intended to get her to remove her $2.8K watch for auction.
Initially, Kelly appeared reluctant to part with her watch but
finally, she was persuaded and the watch was won by the radio
station's managing director.
Kelly
was later asked if she will donate her undergarments for auction.
Her reply was that it is unhygienic. Furthermore, it is not possible
for her to remove them on the spot. She had also found that people
are more interested to buy the things that she is currently wearing
rather than those she are holding.

Falling
Sick Due To Overworking
Kelly's
Mandarin album has only been released for 10 days and was able to
clinch a spot on the top 10 album sales ranking. This good news gave
Kelly a confidence boost and she has set off to Taiwan for the
second round of promotion including a series of autograph sessions
and live shows.
Due
to the earlier SARS outbreak, Kelly had to postpone all her work.
Her current schedule is now fully packed and she has to work for
more than 12 hours daily. As such, she was down with flu after
overworking. However, she has insisted to travel to Taiwan and the
doctor has specially prepared medication for her trip. Kelly added
that this was the most serious flu she had. She had taken medication
from the doctor and has hoped that she would be able to be at her
best to meet the Taiwan fans.

患 重 感 冒
早 前 因 受 沙 士 影 響
， Kelly 要 押 後 全 部 工 作 ， 令 現 時 工 作 編
排 緊 迫 ， 每 天 工 作 超 過 十 二 小 時 。 她 因
太 勞 累 而 患 上 感 冒 ， 但 仍 堅 持 去 台 灣 宣
傳 ， 醫 生 也 特 別 準 備 藥 物 讓 她 帶 上 去 台
灣 。 Kelly 說 ： 「 呢 次 係 我 近 年 患 最 嚴 重
一 次 感 冒 ， 自 己 都 嚇 一 跳 ！ 我 已
經 請 醫 生 開 特 效 藥 ， 希 望 可 以 用 最 好
狀 態 去 台 灣 見 歌 迷 。 」

Bull-fighter

Kelly
will be releasing her Cantonese album together with her earlier
Mandarin album and she had specially traveled to Spain to take
pictures for the album. Her most memorable experience was to dress
up in bull-fighter gear. As Kelly does not know anything about
bull-fighting, the director managed to get a bull-fighter to coach
her skills and poses. The coach had kept praising Kelly to be pretty
and Kelly had initially thought that what he had was only a
courteous remark. Unexpectedly, he even expressed his love for her
and wanted Kelly to be her girlfriend. Kelly was frightened by his
remarks and was at a loss. She had to walk away smiling pretending
that she did not hear him. She did not expect men from Spain to be
so express their love so openly.
For
the photo shoot, Kelly had donned tailored bull-fighting gear that
weigh about 10 pounds. She also had to continuously flag a 20 pound
red cloth under the guidance of the director. Although it was tiring
for Kelly, she felt that it was worth her efforts as the effect was
good. Kelly's only regret was that she was unable to take a picture
with a real bull. This was because, once a bull was released for
fighting, it had to be slaughtered later to prevent it from
endangering people.

子 會 如 此 熱 情 ， 只 認 識 數 小 時 便 這 樣 直
接 。
遺 憾 未 能 與 小 牛 合

、 重 數 十 磅 的 鬥 牛 衫 ， 令 她 負 苛 甚 重 ，
加 上 紅 布 又 重 20 多 磅 ， 但 為 求 美 感 ， 導
演 要 求 她 不 停 舞 動 ， 完 成 後 Kelly 雙 手 乏
力 ， 不 過 她 未 有 怨 言 ， 唯 一 失 望 是 未 能
與 牛 仔 合 照 ， 因 為 當 地 人 表 示 小 牛 只 要
放 出 來 ， 人 類 就 要 殺 牠 們 ﹔ 為 免 小 牛 為
自 己 犧 牲 ， Kelly 寧 願 不 拍 照 了 。

New
Mandarin Album
 
Due
to the earlier SARS outbreak, Kelly's Mandarin album had to be
delayed for 4 months and was finally released recently. To specially
thank her fans, Kelly had made greater effort in the recording
process and for one of the songs "Gentle Tears", she had
spent 5 days to complete which is a record for her.
For
the music video of "All I Want Is Love", she had invited
Korean star, Park Yong Ha, to starr in it and had also recorded the
song in 5 different languages. Working with Park, Kelly has found
that he is a humorous person. In return, Kelly has obliged to appear
in the music video for Park Yong Ha's new song.
Kelly
had also recently been to Taiwan for the promotion of the album and
many of her wears for the events were sponsored. From reliable
sources, besides her daily wears, Kelly has even got sponsorship for
her car and petrol. No wonder she has earned the title of the
"Thrifty Pop Queen".

Kelly 這 次 找 來 韓 國 偶
像 朴 龍 河 拍 的 MV 《 我 要 的 只 有 愛 》 ， 錄
了 5 種 不 同 語 言 版 本 之 多 。 她 今 次 接 觸
過 朴 龍 河 後 ， 發 現 他 原 來 為 人 有 趣 及 愛
開 玩 笑 。 而 她 已 答 應 朴 龍 河 任 其 新 歌 MV
的 嘉 賓 。
Kelly 日 前 已 赴 台 灣 展
開 一 連 串 的 宣 傳 活 動 ， 出 席 活 動 的 服 飾
均 獲 贊 助 ， 據 知 Kelly 平 時 除 了 服 飾 有 贊
助 外 ， 連 汽 車 及 汽 油 都 有 ， 難 怪 連 她 自
己 也 稱 自 己 做 「 慳 錢 天 后 」 。

Pleas
To Her Brother
Kelly
was back from Taiwan to attend the release of the "Pet
Fish" commemorative stamp held yesterday. She was again
questioned by the HK media on the . Kelly replied that her brother
has already made an apology to his girlfriend and this incident will
serve as a lesson to him. Kelly also laughed that she has made pleas
to him not to go to the racecourse area as the place is packed with
the paparazzi. On the last occasion, Victor had a meal with his
father in the area and were pictured and this time, something worse
happened. Young couples having a tiff is common but showing that in
public is unsightly.
Kelly
further supported that Victor's girlfriend is a good girl but both
Victor and her are too young to handle relationship problems well.
Kelly also gave her experience that when she and Alex had a quarrel,
they would not talk to each other for 3 days. However, being
together for 10 years, such tiffs are less common now. Kelly had
once threw a photo frame with her boyfriend's picture and ended up
having to clear the glass pieces herself. Kelly felt that there was
no reason for her to reprimand Victor any further as he was already
remorseful for his actions. As his elder sister, she can only help
him to handle the press.

He Was Too Foolish
Kelly's
brother, Victor, was pictured shoving and pushing his ex-girlfriend
on the streets the previous night. This was very different from his
usual gentlemanly and polite self that was seen by people. The
tabloids had later given him the title of 'Stubborn Boyfriend'.
Kelly,
who was in Taiwan promoting her album, immediately phoned him to
understand the situation. Kelly mentioned that Victor sounded lowly
and had admitted that he was on the wrong. He had later apologised
to both his sister and ex-girlfriend. Kelly added that his brother
is well-behaved and should not have done such a foolish thing. As to
whether Victor had patched up with his ex-girlfriend, Kelly did not
dare to ask more because he was feeling listless. She would find out
more details after her brother's feelings are more stabilised.

Not
Worried To Be Compared With Jay Chou
Kelly's
Mandarin album will be officially released today in Taiwan and she
was present yesterday for the album's press conference. She was
dressed in a sexy low cut top with floral skirt and had attracted
the reporters to take more photographs. A small fish tank was even
accidentally pushed down during the confusion and had given Kelly a
shock. She had later warned everyone to be careful.
Another
singer who had released a new album in the same period was Jay Chou.
Most singers had chose to avoid a head-on clash except for Kelly.
Kelly was asked if she felt pressured? Her reply was that both of
them belong to different categories and was not worried about being
compared with him. Furthermore, both of them have their own
supporters and she is confident on her album sales.
Accompanied
with Jay's album is a VCD while Kelly's has a karaoke VCD with her
past Mandarin hits.
