Part 1 Kowloon Area

Day 1 - 9th July Tuesday

By the time we checked in to Grand Tower Hotel, it was almost 2:15 pm. Me and Gaozai were scheduled to meet Piyo at the hotel lobby at 2:30pm. Time seems rather rush...

I was first to come down to the hotel lobby after unpacking some of my things. Fortunately, I did not have much trouble to make out how Piyo looks like (That's the problem you have when you never met someone before =p). Gaozai came down a while later and we headed for the hotel food court since all of us did not have our lunch yet.

First we went to Sino Centre. The CD shop, Sky Music, was our first check point. A sample pic of Kelly's new album was already pasted outside the shop. Most of the new CDs are sold at reasonable prices and you can find some older CDs in the shelves. The oldest Kelly CD they had was only Wind Flower Snow CD. Following that, we went through the photo shops for pictures of Kelly's older functions as well as the posters at the movie shop. There was not many new stuff at the movie shop except for the Fuji Fine Pix poster selling at HK$80. I resisted not to buy it there and waited to go to the other shop at Allied Plaza to see if they have stock for it.

By 4 pm, we were on our way to the fan club and had took some time finding the place. After some time walking around, we finally got to the place and to our surprise, Kelly's manager, Miss Chung, was just below Prosperous Centre. 3 of us approached her and told that we came from overseas to watch Kelly's concert. =)

Going up to the fan club, Lisa was doing her work in her desk. She looked surprised to see us. =p We stated our purpose to come.. that is, to collect the concert tickets we have booked and of course to join the fan club. Lisa was eager to know about our plans in HK and she contacted some HK fans to come up with a schedule to bring us to the places Kelly frequents. Lisa later volunteered to bring us around and later treated us for tea.

After bidding farewell to Lisa at about 7pm, we met up with CC. CC brought us for a second round tour of the area around Tsim Sha Tsui. This time, to Celia's boutique at Harbour City. The big surprise for the day came as we were about to leave Harbour City, Gaozai spotted Miriam at the ground level.

Stopping over at Tsim Sha Tsui HMV, the gals bought several video stuff. HMV has several of Kelly's DVDs like Lavnder and And I Hate You So at discounted prices. I only got for myself Victor's second edition album for Listen. We took a while to finish our shopping at HMV and by the time we finished, it was raining heavily outside. We decided to go to the nearby MacDonalds to take shelter.

The rain finally stopped in less than half an hour, we walked down the wet streets of Tsim Sha Tsui to Temple Street to visit the night market. The gals occasionally stopped by at the food stalls for smelly bean curd and grilled stuff. Our final stop for the day was at one of the CD shops along Mong Kok.

Day 2 - 10th July Wednesday

After finishing my breakfast, I returned to my hotel room. Switching on the radio (tune in to 903), I heard the ad for Kelly's concert again. I was much surprised to hear that they added another show on the 24th due to good sales.

Our group had split into 2 and I'm left with Piyo. Today, we had planned to meet the ikelly family members (This was my first time meeting them except for Jenny Shum whom I have already met during my 2000 trip to HK). A number of the ikelly family members are doing volunteer work for the Fun Fund Carnival and they had a briefing in the evening at the HK Coliseum.

Me and Piyo met earlier at Mong Kok before going to Tsim Sha Tsui MTR station. As it was still very much earlier than the meeting time at the Coliseum, we chosed to walk from the MTR station to our destination instead. Our meeting place was at the railway station at Hung Hom. There, we met Eddy, Yuki and Jenny.

Evening at Kellyland outside the Coliseum. The stalls are still being set up while a couple of workers were painting the poles to the stalls. Progress seems slow and most of us were worried if they could get everything up in time by tomorrow's opening ceremony.

Piyo and I went off with Jenny to Kowloon Tong while Eddy and Yuki were having their briefing. We met up with Kitty at the railway station and then we proceeded to take the mini bus to where the radio stations of HK are located.

First stop was Commercial Radio Station, home of my favorite HK radio station CR903. ^^ The place does not seem to be very big with just a single high-rised building which is built for the broadcasting block. There were some fans wearing school uniforms waiting outside the main entrance. Wonder who's in there? hoho

Proceeding to the side gate of Commercial Radio Station, we saw 903's DJs Sammy and Siu Yee. They seemed to be taking photographs for promotion to their new movie.

Radio Television Hong Kong was just a few blocks away. Compared to Commercial Radio station's premises, Radio Television Hong Kong was much bigger (better privilege given to government bodies).

Returning to the Coliseum, we heard from the rest of the ikelly family members who were at the briefing that Kelly had arrived at the Coliseum for a late rehearsal for her concert. When we got there, we had already missed Kelly and stranded outside the Coliseum not knowing when Kelly will leave, we finally decided not to wait but to go for dinner at Mong Kok.

Reaching Mongkok, we first walked around in the bustling streets in the area. At Broadway, I had my first major Kelly sighting in HK. The buildings were mounted with large advertisement boards of Fuji Film and Samsung and the various shops selling electronic products. This was a rare sight. Too bad we do not get to see that in Singapore. =(

Dinner time~Korean BBQ Buffet! It is similar to Seoul Garden in Singapore but they have less meat stuff and more variety to the food including sushi and udon?? Strange isn't this supposed to be a Korean restaurant?? ... And even Tom Yam soup. Jason came later and joined us for the meal. Altogether there were 6 of us.

By 9-10 pm, we already finished our meal and we bid farewell. An early rest was necessary as it was a long day for us at the opening ceremony to the carnival the next day.
